These waxy red, pear-shaped fruits, perfect for making delicious sauces. They are dwarf, ‘Low Acid Tomato’. Firm, meaty flesh, fewer seeds with excellent flavour. Good preserving variety and recommended for hot weather and tropical production.
SOWING: Sow direct 3 to 4 seeds at about 50cm spacing and at the depth of 5mm. Cover with Seed & Potting Mix. Thin out to 1 or 2 plants per spacing. Tomatoes can also be sown in Jiffy Pellets. When the roots of the plant start to emerge through the Jiffy pellet, place the whole Jiffy and plant, into its permanent position.
DETERMINATE: Tomato Red Pear are determinate (bush) varieties, which means that the fruit ripens at one time, rather than continually through the season. While they can be eaten raw, they are at their best when they are cooked.
