【水苔】栽培兰花绝不宜用泥土， 水苔属微酸性，最宜种兰花。

使用前应先浸湿，然後把水揸乾，水苔吸水後，会慢慢挥发，形成盆内常有湿气滋润兰根，既可保水；又疏松，多馀的水分会漏掉，不怕积水烂根。

在夏天炎热，蒸腾作用加快，植株容易过乾，可於盆面铺一层湿水苔，增加湿气。经认证不含植物寄生线虫。
